Breeder History on Xylon - most Xylon females are now sterile (cause unknown). Xylon men used to be able to mate with any humanoid-type female up until the last 20 years or so (timeline refers to the date written about in Xylon Warriors I: Initiation.) Now they must seek DNA-compatible offspring from Warriors who left half-breed children on other planets, years ago, to breed with.
All breeders must be initiated. Almost all warriors are breeders. Not all breeders are warriors. Non-warrior, Xylon females are rarely able to breed and only during a breeder release, which is used to control the strength of the species and timing of births.

Breeder Visions - repetiviate dreams that a Xylon Warrior will experience of their lifemate before meeting them.

Clairvoyant-type Dreams - dreams of Xylon's world/system that an unclaimed off-worlder or someone with partial Xylon genetics will have that proves they possess the correct DNA to carry a Xylon child. The dreams subside after the Initiation Rite is performed.

Council of Thirteen - ruling body of Xylon, formed to prevent a military dictatorship and made up of warrior and non-warrior council members who make decisions on the laws governing Xylon. Council members have the same clearance as Class 1 Warriors. Most military issues, however, are generally decided by the Lair's commanding officer.

Def'mal - deformed, maladjusted species that resulted from failed genetic experiments on Xylon. Extremely fertile, but untamed and violent. They possess the same healing ability as Xylon warriors. Their ability is inbred and requires no special transfer of chemicals/elements.
The Def'mal live in the forests of Xylon and when the planet cools, they inhabit the cave systems far away from Xylon's more adavanced population centers.
The Def'mal call the Xylons "free-walkers" and they refer to themselves as "The Clan". Xylon law has decreed that no contact (in general) is to be made between the Def'mal and Xylon citizens.
Fun Fact: It is rumored that the Def'mal possess special sex tools that enhance orgasms.

Dome of Marid - the mostly-underground military base of the Egesa.

Dung-Rat - a small rodent on Xylon.

Egesa - singular and plural form of the word. A half lizard-like, half humanoid creature native to Marid, a moon of Xylon.
They are bald, with a lizard-like tongue, yellow eyes and claws (except for their index fingers). They smell like rotting fish in stagnant water. Their blood is black and sticky.
When off-planet, Egesa usually only venture out after dark and stay in the shadows when they can. Non-military Egesa are also mainly night rovers. Bright lights hurt the Egesa's eyes.
The Egesa sexually transmit diseases and inflict poisons through torture techniques. It's how they sterilize or incapacitate victims. Their cum is brown.
Military Egesa will wear a brownish-gray uniform and heavy boots.

Initiation Pill - the actual scientific name is classified. It's a tiny, brown pill for high-level breeders. It's used in extreme fear of the initiation ceremony to make the breeder more accepting. It's a sexual stimulant and relaxant that affects the mind more so than the body. It's usage is rare and unknown to most. Crypto clearance is required.

Materialization - a method of transporting from place to place using tracker channels via a handheld or remote trans-conn unit. The subject will feel a tingling in their midsection and an almost imperceptible whine occurs during transport. A person can be remotely materialized if they have an energy source on them that can be located and tracked, such as a vid-com/vid-cell or a weapon, for example, even if they don't have a dedicated trans-conn unit in hand.

Mucous Spider - a purple and very deadly insect. Squirts green liquid when stepped on. Venom causes paralysis and eventually death if untreated (even for warriors who can self heal), because the poison works too fast. Certain areas of Marid are overrun with them.

Orbiter - 3 personnel are needed to pilot, navigate and handle weapons control on a standard orbiter; can hold a total of 5 occupants. Many types of orbiters exist. Short-range orbiters are the most common because they are cheaper to manufacture. Their outer shields are thinner and not sufficient for extended space travel. Orbiters can be military or non-military transports. Many Marid orbiters are reported to only have short distance communication capabilities, even their military versions. The communication capabilities of Xylon orbiters (both military and civilian) are currently classified per council decree.

Pod - computer controlled flight vehicle used for delivering payloads. Pods are small and have no onboard pilots. Several classes of pods exist, including environmental and weather pods.

Pain Master - a torture specialist, trained to use Egesa techniques to extract information. They rely on brute force, not intelligence or even common sense oftentimes.

Super Breeder - female super breeders always have twins or triplets. A parent has to be a super breeder to pass the genes to their offspring, and the genes are not always passed down. Only 1 in 50 million women whose DNA is already compatible are also super breeders. Super breeders have special sexual needs in order to be able to orgasm (each SB is different). If a female super breeder is bred to a male with latent super breeder genes, they will produce powerful warriors.
Early super breeder experiments were sometimes done on women without their consent. One side-effect of the experiments was that it created longevity in those born of a super breeder. However, with the longevity comes an eventual weakening of the system that can only be treated with injections of spinal fluid.
